Richard "Rick" Jones serves as the Mobility 2.0 Program Manager in the GSA Enterprise Mobility Program within the Office of Information Technology Category (ITC) in GSA’s Federal Acquisition Service (FAS). The Federal Acquisition Service provides buying platforms and acquisition services to Federal, State and Local governments for a broad range of items from office supplies to motor vehicles to information technology and telecommunications products and services. As an organization within FAS, ITS provides access to a wide range of commercial and custom IT products, services and solutions.
Mr. Jones leads development of the GSA Enterprise Mobility Program. The program is responsible to develop, maintain, and offer federal acquisition contracts and procurement support to agencies government-wide for acquiring national wireless carrier services, end-point devices, mobile security, expense management, and mobile application development and vetting.
GSA’s Enterprise Mobility Program gives government agencies everything they need to implement and manage agency mobile and wireless strategy and program. The program allows agencies to acquire wireless services and devices at cost savings using the FSSI Wireless BPAs. In addition, it connects agencies to contractors, best practices, and support to help achieve value and optimal balance between mobile-related functionality, security, management, and cost savings.
Mr. Jones emphasis is successfully introducing new and emerging technologies into the federal technology footprint. A strong advocate for mobile computing, he has previously served as the Mobility Services Manager for the US Coast Guard and as the Sponsor's Representative for the USCG's Rescue 21 program.
Mr. Jones is a 2004 graduate of the US Coast Guard Academy and received a master of science in Information Management from the University of Maryland in 2010.
