Robin D. Bailey Jr.

Deputy Administrator for Management, Food and Nutrition Service, Department of Agriculture

Mr. Robin D. Bailey Jr., a member of the Senior Executive Service, is the Deputy Administrator for Management, Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) at the U.S. Department of Agriculture in Alexandria, Virginia. The Management organization provides human resources, contract management, logistics and facility services, and information management support services to the agency. FNS provides children and needy families with better access to food and a more healthful diet through 15 nutrition assistance programs and nutrition education efforts. These programs comprise America's nutrition safety net for more than 25 million Americans. He brings over 20 years of leadership and operational experience to the agency.

Mr. Bailey previously served as Director of Human Resources Management, U.S. Forest Service, Albuquerque, New Mexico where he led in excess of 600 personnel who provide Human Resources Management policy and operational services for 50,000 permanent, temporary, and seasonal employees.

Mr. Bailey began his career in 1984 where he served 6 years active duty in the United States Air Force (USAF) followed by his acceptance into the USAF Palace Acquire Intern Program, Human Resource Management career field. Throughout his career he served in a wide range of leadership positions, to include the Civilian Deputy & Staff Director to the 96th Air Base Wing Commander, Eglin Air Force Base, Florida. In this capacity, he co-led more than 5,000 men and women in providing essential base operating support and services for more than 20,000 personnel, six wings, and 50 associate units at the Department of Defense’s largest installation.

Mr. Bailey holds a Master of Arts in Communication from the University of Oklahoma in 2001. He was selected as a member of the Senior Executive Service in 2009 and is an Executive Member and Past President of the Gulf States Federal Human Resources Council.

He currently lives in Maryland with his wife Tina. His daughter, Tashiana, attends the University of New Mexico and his son, Robin, attends Florida State University.
