OPM awards 50 contracts for e-training
Office of Personnel Management officials created the GoLearn program to offer federal employees a wide range of Web-based courses.

Several dozen companies in the e-learning business have won contracts to support the Office of Personnel Management's GoLearn online training program. OPM officials have not announced a potential value for the 50 contracts they awarded yesterday.
Each of the contracts is worth at least $25,000 and could be extended for up to four years beyond the base year, according to the award notice published today on the General Services Administration’s FedBizOpps Web site.
OPM officials created the GoLearn program to offer federal employees a wide range of Web-based courses on academic, technical, executive and organizational development topics.
The businesses selected for GoLearn awards will be responsible for providing learning management systems, courseware, collaboration tools, change management consulting services, GoLearn staff support and academic licenses, credentials and online degrees.
GoLearn contracts were awarded to a variety of small and large businesses, including Plateau Systems, GeoLearning, IBM Business Consulting Services, Pearson Government Solutions and the Apollo Group. The Apollo Group is the parent company of the for-profit University of Phoenix and University of Phoenix Online.
