The employee-owned company is now a governmentwide acquisition contractor for federal telecommunications infrastructure needs.

American Systems Corp., an employee-owned federal contractor based in Chantilly, Va., announced today it is now a prime contractor on the General Services Administration’s Connections contract, a governmentwide acquisition contract for federal telecommunications infrastructure.

Connections is a multiple-award, indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract for telecom equipment and solutions. It provides one-stop shopping in three categories: equipment, support services and customized solutions.

“Connections is an important vehicle for many federal agencies, and we’re proud to be one of the six prime contractors working in all three procurement categories,” said Byron Johns, vice president of federal services at American Systems, in a statement today.

Founded in 1975, American Systems has more than 30 years in the federal sector. The company had 2005 revenues of $275 million.
