Currency office seeks wireless providers
The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency is looking for service providers that can offer thousands of dial-up, broadband and wireless connections worldwide.
Vendors who believe they can provide the services should submit the details of their offerings and the approximate price per user.
The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency is looking for companies that can provide a variety of remote connections for about 2,000 bank examiners in the United States and abroad. That number represents about two-thirds of the office's workforce.
In a sources-sought notice published today, the office notes that it needs a high number of access points because the examiners need access at all times.
The minimum requirements are:
- 22,000 dial-up points of access in more than 100 countries.
- 25,000 broadband connections, both wired and wireless.
- 22,000 locations with wireless connectivity.
- Online training for all OCC users of the service.
OCC is part of the Treasury Department.
