Commerce unveils new award

The department's Technology Administration will present its first Recognition of Excellence in Innovation award to Odin Technologies.

The Commerce Department’s Technology Administration will present its first Recognition of Excellence in Innovation award Oct. 11 to Odin Technologies of Dulles, Va.

Undersecretary of Commerce for Technology Robert Cresanti will present the award to Patrick Sweeney, president and chief executive officer of Odin, at the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce.

According to Commerce, the award is to recognize local and regional innovators nationwide who have introduced a new product or service, used a new manufacturing process or received a patent from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in the past year.

Odin provides radio frequency identification installation optimization software, technology research and RFID implementations.
