Upgraded site offers information on research projects

An Energy Department site has added projects from the Defense Department, NASA and the Transportation Research Board to its federal R&D project summaries portal.

Information about research projects at the Defense Department, NASA and the Transportation Research Board were added to a Web site portal about federal research and development projects, according to the Energy Department.

Visitors to the portal may now find research project summaries from nine federal agency databases, according to officials from Energy's Office of Scientific and Technical Information (OSTI), which hosts the site.

For example, the portal now includes studies about New York City's Park and Ride program, Defense Research Sciences Budget Activity, and Transgenic Plant Biomonitors, OSTI officials announced Feb. 11.

The portal helps users find research projects across the federal government and provides access to more than 800,000 research projects complete with full-text, single-query searching of all the databases. The site now offers advanced searching by project content, principal investigator, or title, and narrows results quickly by grouping them by subtopic or principal investigator, according to OSTI.

New content includes recently completed transportation research projects by the Transportation Research Board, NASA-funded research and lists of publications, and DOD research, development, test and evaluation programs and program elements.
