New CIO handbook provides a resource for IT transitions

A new website provides problem-solving resources for federal CIOs.

Federal CIOs now have an online handbook to help them navigate IT system acquisition, reform and maintenance, reports Nextgov’s blog Tech Insider.

The website, CIO.gov/bestpractices, had its soft launch April 13 and is comprised of 6-page case studies that outline an agency’s IT system problem and the steps taken to find a solution.

The site was promised by Federal CIO Vivek Kundra in last December’s 25-point IT reform plan and more information will be added to the platform in the coming months as agencies aggregate case studies and lessons learned, the article said.
