The work: Identifying ways for Arlington National Cemetery to overhaul an antiquated recordkeeping system.
The impact: As chairman of the Northern Virginia Technology Council, Antle led a task force that made a series of recommendations to the secretary of the Army for improving the cemetery’s management of records and workflow.
The nuts and bolts: Arlington National Cemetery had a chaotic, manual, paper-based system for processing information that led to several embarrassing incidents of misidentified graves, missing bodies and similar lapses. Antle brought together 17 industry leaders who analyzed the cemetery’s problems and provided specific recommendations for solving them, which cemetery leaders quickly adopted.
