The work: Overseeing a commission charged with advising the government on how it should deploy cloud technologies and develop public policies that will help drive U.S. innovation in the cloud.

The impact: The commission’s recommendations are helping agencies successfully implement the government’s cloud-first program, and its report is a model for a similar effort being undertaken at the state level.

The nuts and bolts: Kerber served as staff director of the TechAmerica Foundation’s Commission on the Leadership Opportunity in U.S. Deployment of the Cloud, composed of 71 industry and academia experts. She took on the challenge above and beyond her daily job responsibilities and spent countless hours bringing government and industry leaders together and building consensus among the diverse views on cloud computing.
