Army announces $494M contract under ITES 2

Six firms will compete for task orders on hardware, software and integration services.

The Army on July 19 announced a nearly $500 million contract to six companies under the product portion of the Information Technology Enterprise Solution-2. The multiple-award, task-order contract went to Dell Federal Systems, IBM, Unicom Government, CDW Government, Iron Bow Technologies and World Wide Technology.

The six firms will compete for task orders under the contract for hardware, software and related services. Washington Technology, FCW's sister publication covering federal contracting, reported that "the contract this one replaces brought in $611 million in task orders in 2012 alone. Over the life of the contract, it has been used for $4.6 billion in task orders."

According to the DOD announcement, 18 companies bid on the contract, increasing the likelihood of multiple bid protests.
