NIH readies new IT contract
The $20 billion solicitation will give agencies access to commodities and solutions related to a variety of IT initiatives, Washington Technology reports.
Officials at the National Institutes of Health have released a request for proposals for a 10-year, $20 billion solicitation for the CIO - Commodities and Solutions contract, Washington Technology reports.
The governmentwide acquisition contract will provide agencies with products and services related to general IT and health and life sciences IT capabilities, according to Washington Technology, one of FCW's sister publications.
Beyond health and biomedical research, CIO-CS will also offer services aligned with support for information management, operational and administrative needs, such as security, infrastructure, telecommunications and desktop applications.
CIO-CS will supersede NIH's Electronics Commodities Store III contract, which expires in November. Washington Technology reports that CIO-CS should increase NIH's total contract awards from 40 to 75. Responses to the RFP are due by June 11.
