VA releases RFI for next generation of IT
Vendors looking to be primes and subcontractors on T4NG have until Aug. 28 to submit statements of their capability to perform the work contained in the request for information.
WHAT: The VA released documents for the next iteration of its massive IT modernization contract vehicle.
WHY: The VA's $12 billion Transformation Twenty-One Total Technology (T4) runs through June 2016. Launched under former Assistant Secretary for Information and Technology Roger Baker to improve project management and customer service, the indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract vehicle T4 covers VA networks, its electronic health records system VistA, enterprise software, hardware, testing, data migration, cybersecurity, and more. Vendors looking to be primes and subcontractors on its successor, the Twenty-One Total Technology Next Generation Program, dubbed T4NG have until Aug. 28 to submit statements of their capability to perform the work contained in the request for information.
T4NG is strictly agile, specifying incremental development for managing task orders. All work will be carried out in keeping with the VA's internal enterprise management framework that allows for the collection of performance data in real time.
