GSA feedback for EIS bidders pushed back into August
Initial evaluations of proposals for the massive telecommunications contract were originally planned for late July.
The General Services Administration had planned to provide bidders for the $50 billion, 15-year Enterprise Infrastructure Solutions contract with feedback on their proposals by late July, but those plans have slipped.
Officials now say they plan to contact bidders in August, according to a July 28 post on the agency's EIS Interact site.
"This message is to advise the offerors that GSA is in the process of finalizing the information that we intend to share and discuss with the offerors," the post states. "As a result, we now plan on contacting the offerors in mid-August."
The feedback is part of the bid process and is intended to give bidders a chance to fill in some of the blanks in their submissions or clarify what they have submitted.
Telecommunications companies have been anticipating a slight delay because the EIS contract is complex and the agency is carefully honing details.
GSA officials have said they will award the massive contract in October. For months, Amando Gavino, director of the agency's Office of Network Services Programs, has been urging agencies to start planning how they will move their existing network services to EIS.
