Throughout government, IT leaders are scrambling to secure existing systems against a rapidly growing array of known risks, while also planning for future systems that must guard against threats that have yet to be imagined. But daily operations don’t slow down for added requirements and evolving issues; many IT departments are so consumed with today’s needs that they struggle to plan for tomorrow.

That’s where intelligent automation comes in. While it sounds futuristic, IA is a spectrum of proven technologies already in use throughout the federal system to absorb routine tasks and free up staff for other priorities. Many agencies are using robotic process automation for repetitive tasks and processes. Others are taking IA to a higher level with machine learning to add chat bots for customer support, or using artificial intelligence to analyze network data and respond in real time.

Identity and access management -- a cornerstone of any organization's security strategy -- is an especially promising area for IA. Agencies are finding efficiencies intelligently automating everything from password resets to recertification of remote servers.

This event brought together government IT managers and industry leaders who explored how intelligent automation can be used in any agency to strengthen cybersecurity operations. The sessions will addressed key issues that managers should consider in adopting IA solutions and highlighted case studies and best practices.

Potential topics addressed include:

  • The intersection of IA and cybersecurity
  • Leveraging existing tools to automate key processes
  • How IA can help meet compliance requirements
  • IA's ability to transform identity and access management
  • Emerging tools and technologies for IA
  • Best practices for planning and deployment
