SRA wins EPA deal

The Environmental Protection Agency has granted SRA International Inc. a Federal Supply Schedule blanket purchase agreement for information technology services.

SRA's contract, worth up to $29 million, is for services to support the EPA Office of Air and Radiation's I-Star Database System and Climate Protection Partnerships Division (CPPD) information management requirements. The single award, five-year, time-and-materials contract was awarded to Systems Research and Applications Corporation, a subsidiary of SRA.

In 2001, SRA officials began working with the climate division to consolidate and upgrade EPA's technology infrastructure to cut costs and boost performance. Under this new contract, SRA will complete the modernization and develop the next generation information management and database system.

The contract calls for requirements analysis, systems design, development, integration, and testing, web development and information security. Work will include enhancement of the climate division's iSTAR database, which provides data management and reporting tools for partnership programs and the Energy Star Web site, which EPA runs with the Energy Department.

The climate division builds partnerships with private and public organizations using voluntary programs that cut greenhouse gases and encourage thrifty energy efficiency.
