New Jersey chooses ACS for electronic benefits deal

Affiliated Computer Services Inc. has won a $24 million contract from the New Jersey Department of Human Services for electronic benefits transfer services, the company announced this week. The five-year contract has two option years.ACS of Dallas will provide transaction processing, call-center services, account management, Web-based transaction inquiry, online reporting, retailer management for merchants and automated teller machine access.The work will affect 196,000 program recipients and the retailers they use. ACS’ Family and Community Services business unit will perform the work.The unit focuses on comprehensive management, automation and operation of public-sector human services programs.
