Army issues modernization RFP
The service plans to award contracts this spring for the $4 billion Infrastructure Modernization program.
The Army released a solicitation Nov. 4 for the $4 billion Infrastructure Modernization (IMOD) program, and the service plans to award contracts in the spring, according to an Army statement released today.
The service plans to award eight contracts, including two for small businesses, under the multiyear program. The service will select winners based on best value.
IMOD replaces multiple contracts related to the Army’s Digital Switched Systems Modernization Program that expire in June 2007. IMOD will update telecommunications lines, including the installation of fiber-optic cable at major Army bases in the United States.
The Army’s Project Manager for Defense Communications and Army Switched Systems, and the service’s Information Technology, E-Commerce and Commercial Contracting Center oversaw the release of the IMOD solicitation.
