911 vendor joins partnership
911 Enable will participate in the National Emergency Number Association's Next Generation Partner Program.
A 911 service provider has joined the National Emergency Number Association in a partner program that brings together communications vendors and public safety associations.
The firm, 911 Enable, will participate in NENA’s Next Generation Partner Program. The public/private working group seeks to advance technology, policy and operations issues through research and planning. The partnering effort has 38 members.
Overall, NENA has been working to develop requirements for next-generation 911 systems and services. The organization launched a joint Technical and Operations working group in October to pursue next-generation 911 development. That plan seeks to replace the current 911 system with an IP-based system.
A division of Montreal-based Connexon Telecom, 911 Enable offers emergency solutions for voice-over-IP service providers and industries such as telematics and health care.
