Washington travelers might want to make a pit stop to check road and weather conditions at the state's new World Wide Web site, called rWeather.

Washington State Department of Transportation recently launched rWeather (test.wsdot.wa.gov/rwis) to give travelers a resource to help them make informed travel decisions. The site is being beta tested and is scheduled for an official launch this month.

At the site, people can access real-time data from about 350 weather stations, traffic cameras and pass reports across the state. People can read warnings from the National Weather Service and view radar and satellite pictures of weather conditions.

WSDOT plans to expand the service to allow people to read real-time reports on traffic incidents and current construction projects within specific areas.

In addition to WSDOT, the University of Washington and the Federal Highway Administration helped develop the site.
