FCW's weekly lineup of federal IT decision-makers on the move

Manny DeVera, director of the General Services Administration's Federal Technology Service's IT Solutions Regional Services Center, has moved over to become deputy to John Johnson, the assistant commissioner for service development. Johnson took over for Bruce Brignull, who left government. Dell Berry, who joined GSA about a year ago, is taking over for DeVera.

Pete Fridman, a telecommunications manager at GSA's FTS, has moved over to become deputy to Bob Suda. Suda is the assistant commissioner of the FTS Office of Information Technology Integration.

Dara Murray joined the National Science Foundation on Sept. 24 as information systems security specialist. She will develop, evaluate and monitor policies and controls systems for an NSF-wide security program. Murray has been a computer security specialist at the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and most recently was a security program manager at the Justice Department.

Retired Navy Vice Adm. Henry Giffin III recently was appointed director of combat systems life cycle support at Anteon Corp. In this newly created role, he will direct the company's initiatives in full-service contracting, or full-service partnerships, in support of the Navy fleet. Full-service contracting, or partnerships, will establish new dynamics for the maintenance of Navy ships and their systems.

Most recently, Giffin served as commander of the Atlantic Fleet Naval Surface Force, where he was responsible for the mission-readiness of the entire Atlantic surface fleet.

Retired Air Force Lt. Gen. William Donahue was recently selected to direct Computer Sciences Corp.'s business unit that consolidates aerospace programs, range operations and Air Force support business. The business unit, Aerospace Information Technologies, delivers information technology solutions to Air Force and space-related clients.

Donahue's most recent military assignment was as the Air Force's director for communication and information at Air Force headquarters and commander of the Air Force Communications and Information Center, Washington, D.C.
