Air Force readies service BPAs

The Air Force plans to award seven BPAs for IT services worth up to $650 million over five years

The Air Force plans to award seven blanket purchase agreements for information technology services that could be worth $650 million over five years.

Bids are due Aug. 7 for the IT services BPAs, which will include data, engineering, management, network, security, software and training services, according to a July 3 notice in the Commerce Business Daily.

The Standard Systems Group at Gunter Annex on Maxwell Air Force Base, Ala., plans to award seven BPAs to a mix of large and small businesses that are contract holders on the General Services Administration's IT schedule, according to the solicitation.

By using contracts already awarded under the GSA schedule, SSG officials can award the BPAs quicker and avoid vendor protests.

They plan to have the IT services BPA invitee package ready for vendors today. Information will be available at the Electronic Systems Center's business opportunities Web page (www.herbb.hanscom.af.mil).
