TSP system stays on track

The new recordkeeping system for the Thrift Savings Plan is on schedule for a mid-June launch

The new recordkeeping system for the Thrift Savings Plan is still on schedule for a mid-June launch.

Lawrence Stiffler, director of automated systems for the Federal Retirement Thrift Investment Board, had stated in March that "June looks pretty good" for the launch. He reiterated this at an April 28 meeting of the board, which manages TSP.

A team led by Materials, Communications and Computers Inc. found only minor bugs in the system and no software problems to hinder implementation, Stiffler told the board, according to a board spokesman.

The new system would give TSP participants access to new features such as daily account valuations, quarterly participant statements and electronic deposit of a loan or withdrawal that's not going to an IRA.
