USDA to train project managers

Robbins-Gioia will teach a five-week course on program management and related requirements of the Office of Management and Budget

Robbins-Gioia LLC will teach Agriculture Department employees how to manage projects.

The department has hired Robbins-Gioia to teach a five-week course on program management, capital planning and investment control and requirements for process change set by the Office of Management and Budget. The course offers Project Management Professional certification guidance so students can take the PMP exam after the course.

The course is mainly intended for USDA workers but is open to other agencies.

OMB has identified more than 700 systems that need project management improvement. The Office of Personnel Management has outlined a new project management job classification, and initiatives are underway to develop and retain qualified managers.
