ITES services contracts coming soon
Services pacts for the Army's Information Technology Enterprise Solutions program will come within a couple of weeks, an official said.
Industry officials said the Army this week will award the support services contracts in the $500 million Information Technology Enterprise Solutions (ITES), but an Army official with knowledge of the program said today they will come "within the next couple weeks."
ITES support services work includes asset tracking, data migration, equipment maintenance, image loading, installation, legacy equipment maintenance, site survey, and system configuration and integration. The Army last month said the ITES support services deals will occur in mid-October.
Next week, the Army will hold an industry day for winners of the ITES hardware contracts issued Sept. 12, an industry official said today. The service will further explain program requirements, the official said.
ITES hardware winners are: Dell Inc.; GTSI Corp.; Hewlett-Packard Co.; and Lockheed Martin Corp.'s Integrated Systems division. The hardware deals — which cover three years with two options of two years each — cover managed platforms, network equipment, servers, storage systems and workstations.
Army officials issued a request for proposals for ITES May 2, and evaluated contractor submissions using performance-contracting guidelines. "The purpose of ITES is to support the Army's enterprise infrastructure and infostructure goals with IT equipment and services," a service document says.
