EDS exec to retire

Albert Edmonds, a vice president at EDS, plans to retire this summer, company officials said.

Albert Edmonds, a vice president at EDS, plans to retire this summer, company officials said.

Edmonds, a retired Air Force lieutenant general, has led the company's U.S. Government Group for six years. Officials said he will continue in that role until a successor is selected.

"Al has provided outstanding leadership and played a major role in expanding EDS' U.S. and global government business," said Jeff Heller, EDS president and chief operating officer, in announcing Edmonds' retirement.

Edmonds joined EDS in 1998 and took over the government business in 2001.
