DOD signs Tower Software enterprise deal

Military agencies, Coast Guard can purchase TRIM Context products at reduced prices.

The Air Force’s information technology procurement organization announced Dec. 9 that it coordinated an enterprise software agreement for the military with Tower Software.

The services, Defense Department, intelligence agencies and the Coast Guard can purchase licenses, maintenance, services and training at reduced prices from the General Services Administration’s schedule for Tower Software’s TRIM Context products. They are an integrated electronic document and records management platform for enterprise content management to manage and secure agencies’ information assets, according to a statement from the Air Force’s Headquarters Operations and Sustainment Systems Group (OSSG).

The agreement covers five years and is worth $34.1 million. The deal under DOD’s Enterprise Software Initiative (ESI) will save the military at least $12 million, said Susan Kirkland, ESI Air Force software product manager at OSSG.

The Tower Software agreement is the second deal OSSG acquired for the DOD ESI in recent months. The group coordinated a five-year, $182 million deal for Symantec’s products and services in September.
