Lee leaving GSA, heading to FEMA

Former DOD procurement official, who has been in the GSA role since last August, will join FEMA on April 3

The embattled General Services Administration is losing another senior staff member -- Deidre Lee, assistant commissioner for integrated technology services, government and industry sources said today.

Lee is leaving her position to take a senior management position at the Federal Emergency Management Agency, sources said.

No timetable has been set, but the paperwork finalizing her departure has been signed, sources confirmed.

Lee could not be reached for comment.

The move is the latest in a series of departures from GSA, which has been struck by a number of problems in recent months. GSA has been losing revenue as customers have been seeking alternatives to GSA's procurement offerings.

Earlier this month, the agency reported that it will have to reduce its workforce by at least 400 people to bring expenses in line with reduced revenues.
