DHS awards EAGLE contracts

A department spokesman could not confirm who the winners are or how many have been awarded contracts.

The Homeland Security Department is awarding Enterprise Acquisition Gateway for Leading Edge (EAGLE) solutions information technology procurement contracts to small businesses this week.

“We’re in the process of telling award winners that they’re winners and all the others that they’re not winners,” DHS spokesman Larry Orluskie said.

He could not confirm who the winners are or how many have been awarded contracts, but DHS is set to release an official statement Aug. 22.

The small-business awards are the second of two phases for EAGLE contracting. The first phase — awarded at the end of June — was for 25 large businesses.

EAGLE is a departmentwide IT services acquisition system that focuses on categories of operations and maintenance, evaluation and verification, management support, software development and engineering design, development, implementation, and integration. The system is meant to reduce the time awarding task orders takes.
