Letter: VistA outage not so bad

If nine hours without power leads to months of data entry, woe are we for all the paper systems in use almost everywhere else.

I prefer to look at "VistA outage disrupts Calif. VA hospitals" as the glass is half full. The Veterans Health Administration's electronic medical records system is the most efficient and large scale in the world. If nine hours leads to months of data entry, woe are we for all the ongoing paper systems almost everywhere else. Thank you, VHA, for showing us that this is doable. (I wrote a report on the VHA in French, which is downloadable from my Web site: basilstrategies.com.
