Letter: Charbo’s job was never easy

A reader says lawmakers should be ‘in the trenches’ rather than criticizing Scott Charbo’s efforts as DHS’ chief information officer.

Regarding “DHS responds to congressional criticism of Charbo promotion”: I think we should be more concerned with having to reload and renavigate the Homeland Security Department security area. Scott Charbo has a tough position and always has — dealing with all the pieces that are now DHS, dealing with all the vendors that claim to be the best and finally not making everyone happy.

I believe Rep. Bennie Thompson needs to be in the trenches rather than be an armchair quarterback. He has the easy job.
