The department’s chief administrative officer is seeking a consultant with experience in developing telework policies, guidelines and training to help workers do their jobs from remote locations.

The contractor will help set up a training laboratory  and will help structure training, deployment of equipment and the submission of annual reports to the Office of Management and Budget. The project also will involve surveys and focus sessions to identify strengths and weaknesses, DHS said. The pilot project is scheduled to begin with 25 DHS participants on Oct. 31, with 25 more employees added on Jan. 31, 2009, and another 25 people added on April 30, 2009.

The Homeland Security Department wants to hire a consultant who can develop a model telework demonstration program for 75 departmental employees. 

Under the Telework Pilot Program, the department’s chief administrative officer is seeking a small business management consultant who has experience in developing telework policies, guidelines and training along with implementing pilot projects to help workers do their jobs from remote locations. Responses are due Sept. 25.


The consultant will help establish user requirements and to select computer equipment and collaboration tools such as instant messaging,  video-conferencing and desktop sharing.
