The FBI gets a new CIO

Chad Fulgham is the bureau’s new chief information officer. He replaces Zalmai Azmi, who left the post in October.

The FBI has named Chad Fulgham as the bureau’s new chief information officer. He will direct the bureau's overall information technology efforts.

Fulgham will inherit several high-profile IT projects that include the Sentinel, the bureau's six-year, $451 million project to update its investigative case management system. Fulgham replaces Zalmai Azmi, who left in October after holding the post since 2004. Azmi has since joined CACI.

Previously, Fulgham worked in Lehman Brothers' information technology division. He also spent five years in the Navy working on information security, network management and communications, the FBI said Dec. 8.
