The Homeland Security Department is in disarray, and the incoming Obama administration faces a Herculean task in sorting it out, according to a Boston Globe report.

There are significant management challenges, an urgent requirement for investment in human capital and a growing list of acquisition programs that face major problems, the Globe said.

What the Obama team leading DHS will need to solve the agency’s problems is correct and accurate information about them and a candid assessment of the challenges, the report added.
