Cybersecurity czar's former employer picks new leader

The Information Systems Security Association has chosen someone to take over as president of the International Board of Directors in the wake of Howard Schmidt's departure to the Obama administration.

The Information Systems Security Association has chosen Kevin Richards to take over as president of the International Board of Directors in the wake of Howard Schmidt's departure to the Obama administration.

Richards has served on the board since 2003. Previously, he was president of the organization's Chicago chapter. President Barack Obama appointed Schmidt National Cybersecurity Coordinator in December.

“Kevin is the best person I can think of to take over the role of president as his passion, investment of time and belief in ISSA in unparalleled, and he has led with integrity and the highest ethical standards,” Schmidt said in a written statement.  “I wish him continued success in all he does.”
