Cragg takes helm as Secret Service CIO
Scott Cragg has been serving as special assistant to the CIO and deputy CIO at the Veterans Affairs Department since 2004.
Scott Cragg is leaving the Veterans Affairs Department and will start work as CIO at the Secret Service on Oct. 25, officials confirmed today.
“Scott is leaving VA to be the CIO at Secret Service,” said Roger Baker, assistant secretary of information and technology and CIO at VA.
“It's a great opportunity for him," Baker added. "He will be missed at VA, particularly for his work on VistA Open Source, where he has been the main driver of our efforts to this point.”
A spokesperson at the Secret Service also confirmed the appointment and said an official announcement would be made early next week.
Cragg has served as special assistant to the CIO and deputy CIO at VA since 2004. He has a B.S. in aerospace engineering from Boston University and a master’s degree in engineering administration from George Washington University.
