SSA official fired for disputing IT policy, he says

A fired IT official claims the SSA pushed him out when he disagreed with the agency's approach to IT.

The Social Security Administration allegedly fired an official for a disagreeing with the agency's IT approach, the Federal Times reports.

Sean Reilly reports that Ephraim Feig, who had been the agency's associate CIO for vision and strategy until his departure was announced last month, used his personal blog to say he was fired for "challenging a status quo that won't meet future needs." Earlier this week, the SSA confirmed without explanation that CIO Frank Baitman is stepping down.
