Meet the 2012 Eagle award winners
This year's winners are helping the federal government take advantage of emerging concepts for improving IT management.
David McClure and Alfred Grasso are the winners of the 2012 Eagle awards for their outstanding contributions to the federal IT community last year.
The Eagle award winners – one from government and one from industry – are selected from among the winners of the Federal 100 award, which recognizes individuals who made a significant impact on federal IT. The 2012 Eagle winners were announced at the March 28 Federal 100 Awards Gala in Washington, D.C.
McClure, associate administrator of the General Services Administration's Office of Citizen Services and Innovative Technologies, spearheaded a number of innovative initiatives, including GSA’s infrastructure-as-a-service contract and the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program for cloud products.
Grasso, president and CEO of Mitre Corp., led studies on acquisition management and resilient system architectures. He also took leadership roles on various advisory boards, including the Defense Department's Defense Science Board, the Strategic Command's Cyber Strategic Advisory Group and AFCEA International.
The judges for this year Eagle awards were Donna Morea (Adesso Group), Karen Evans (KE&T Partners), Linda Gooden (Lockheed Martin), Steve Kelman (Kennedy School of Government), David Wennergren (Defense Department) and Dendy Young (McLean Capital).
