A dozen up-and-coming professionals have been recognized this year for making an early -- and substantive -- mark in the government technology community.
A dozen up-and-coming government technology professionals have been recognized this year in the annual Rising Star awards program, co-sponsored by Federal Computer Week and its affiliate publications, Government Computer News and Washington Technology.
The Rising Star awards program honors employees in the public and private sectors who have made an early — and substantive — mark in the government technology community. The goal is to reward them for their extraordinary achievements and hold them up as an inspiration to others.
This year’s winners were selected from some 75 nominations submitted by supervisors and co-workers. They are being honored for a wide range of exceptional work — such as pushing e-diplomacy efforts and conflict-zone geospatial intelligence and revamping entire hiring processes.
Special thanks go to our independent panel of judges and to Phil Kiviat and the Young AFCEANs from the Bethesda, Md., chapter of AFCEA International, who first suggested this program and continue to support it.
