Happy holidays -- you have 10 more days to make your nominations!

Alright already -- my inbox and voicemail say "uncle!" Everyone gets a few extra days to finish up their Federal 100 nominations.

The new deadline is noon ET on Thursday, Jan. 2. And this one is non-negotiable -- by mid-afternoon that day, we will be organizing and collating the nominations so they can be in judges' hands for weekend reading.

So if you have a nomination that's just waiting on that last bit of information -- or if you'd wanted to nominate someone but feared there wasn't enough time -- you now have 10 extra days. Get moving!

All nominations must be made online at FCW.com/fed100.

And here's one last recap of what it takes to make the Fed 100:

  1. Anyone in the federal IT community is eligible. Generally, that means agency employees and select members of the contracting sector, but past winners have also included legislators, academics, independent watchdogs and even a journalist or two.
  2. The award is for individual accomplishments in 2013.
  3. Fed 100 winners go above and beyond -- whatever their level or rank. A fancy job title is not required, and just doing one's job well is not enough.
  4. Impact matters. The judges need to know not only what a nominee did, but also what all that work accomplished.

If you know someone whose talents, leadership and dedication are making federal IT better, please be sure they have the opportunity to get the recognition they deserve. Nominate them today -- and then enjoy the rest of the holiday season.
