UPDATED: TSA goes sole-source for Registered Traveler clearinghouse
The American Association of Airport Executives will manage enrollment for the traveler program.

The Homeland Security Department's Transportation Security Administration will award a sole-source contract for a clearinghouse information management system to coordinate interoperability among service providers in the voluntary Registered Traveler program rather than compete the contract.
TSA announced today it would award the contract to the American Association of Airport Executives, an organization with a history of providing similar services to TSA for other security programs.
Section 528 of the 2006 DHS appropriations bill requires the agency to use the association’s Transportation Security Clearinghouse for managing the information technology infrastructure, fee collection and interoperability requirements of Registered Traveler, the airline passenger screening program.
TSA did not announce the value or terms of the contract, which will begin Aug. 15.
