AFCEA Homeland Security conference starts today
AFCEA sponsors one of the largest homeland security conferences in the country, which begins today in Washington.
Federal cybersecurity, contracting and collaboration are on the agenda as federal executives speak at the three-day AFCEA Homeland Security conference starting today in Washington.
Today’s speakers include Charles Armstrong, CIO of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), who will be among several CBP officials to discuss acquisitions, small-business efforts, wireless systems, enterprise networks and data systems.
Gen. Keith Alexander, commander of the U.S. Cyber Command and director of the National Security Agency, will be today’s keynote speaker.
On Feb. 23, the focus goes to federal CIOs, with a CIO roundtable discussion moderated by Jim Flyzik, president of Flyzik Group and chairman of the AFCEA Homeland Security Committee.
Bruce McConnell, senior counselor of the Homeland Security Department's National Protection and Programs Directorate, and Donna Roy, director of the Homeland Security Information Network, also will be making presentations that day.
The keynote speeches on Feb. 24 will be delivered by Adm. Thad Allen, former commandant of the Coast Guard and senior fellow at Rand Corp., and by David Aguilar, deputy commissioner of the CBP.
