Probe finds insider hacking at immigration agency

Several instances of internal hacking have been discovered at the Bureau of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, Nextgov reports.

An investigation launched in 2008 has turned up numerous security violations at the bureau's Texas Service Center. Nextgov reports that these violations included sabotage of audit logs, abuse of system login privileges, and internal hacking that gave staff members access to managers' e-mail messages and other confidential documents.

Hackware was found on several computer drives at the bureau, part of the Homeland Security Department.
