DHS officials drop new questionnaire
Homeland Security Department officials opt for the existing vendor communications plan rather than one that would have put more scrutiny on agency/vendor communications.
Homeland Security Department officials won’t be asking 15 questions before they meet with a vendor, according to Federal News Radio.
DHS’ National Protection and Programs Directorate has decided not to issue the new vendor communication guidance. "The questions ranged from the obvious, such as who they were meeting with and about what, to what some in industry called controversial, such as how many times [National Protection and Programs Directorate] officials have met with the company in the last six months and if the company has any contracts with DHS and all details about those contracts," writes Jason Miller at the radio station's website.
Industry pushed back against the guidance, saying it would harm relationships between vendors and DHS officials.
