Introducing technology into any organization can be difficult, especially when it is unfamiliar to most employees. When the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) wanted to provide web conferencing and distance learning across its diverse enterprise, agency managers knew they had to implement a solution that was user-friendly and offered topnotch capabilities without requiring extensive training and management.
Today, FHWA uses a hosted Adobe Connect solution as one of several methods to provide training to 2,800 employees, with the potential to touch more than 15,000 within its diverse organization. In addition, the FHWA could reach employees at state and local Department of Transportation agencies through the National Highway Institute. Licensed for 200 simultaneous users, the FHWA holds as many as 100 web conferences monthly, and has had as many as 125 attendees in a session. Additionally, asynchronous learning modules have been deployed throughout the organization.
