Faced with systemic cyber security challenges, federal agencies are minimizing their exposure by squeezing more value from the cyber tools they already have. To better leverage those resources, agencies must overcome non-technical impediments, including a shortage of IT workers with cyber security expertise, organizational silos that hamper collaboration and disconnects between strategy and operations. One means of helping organizations understand and respond to cyber threats is cyber threat intelligence (CTI), a predictive approach that allows agencies to take preemptive action against cyber criminals.
