Calif. DMV chooses Micrografx for Intranet graphics

Deal will enable the state to make graphics-intensive documents available via the Internet

The California Department of Motor Vehicles' Technical Graphics Services

Unit will use Micrografx Inc.'s ActiveCGM to make graphics-intensive documents

available on the department's intranet.

Micrografx will enable the DMV to post graphics in standard formats on the

World Wide Web. Graphics such as charts, proposals and forms can be changed

or simply viewed using the system.

One of the main functions of the system will be to map the layouts of buildings

and offices for logistics management. With graphical views of the layouts,

it will be easier for the DMV to redesign facilities and track electric,

sewage and other utility systems.

The system was installed earlier this year but has not been completely updated

with specific information.
