Roster Change

* Maj. Gen. Harry Raduege Jr. was last week was named director of the Defense Information Systems Agency. Raduege is the director of command control systems for the North American Aerospace Defense Command and U.S. Space Command, and is director of communications and information of the Air Force Space Command, Peterson Air Force Base, Colo. He also serves as the chief information officer for all three commands. He succeeds Army Lt. Col. David Kelley, who is retiring in June.

* Rudy DeLeon recently was tapped to take over as the new deputy secretary of Defense, replacing John Hamre, who left to head up the Center for Strategic and International Studies. DeLeon was the undersecretary of Defense for personnel and readiness.

* Alan Moore recently was named director of the Federal Aviation Administration's Airway Facilities Service. Moore oversees the employees responsible for the maintenance, design and installation of more than 44,000 pieces of equipment and systems across the country. He has served as acting director for the past three months and succeeds Stanley Rivers, who retired last year.

* Jerry Mahlman, director of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory in Princeton, N.J., will retire Oct. 1 from the federal government. Under Mahlman's tenure, the laboratory established the science base that now anchors the worldwide debates on human-caused climate warming, among other achievements.

* Charles Self earlier this month was named the new deputy commissioner of the General Services Administration's Federal Technology Service, and Robert Suda was named as the new assistant commissioner of the FTS Office of Information Technology Integration. The position changes were effective April 2.

Self has served as assistant commissioner of ITI since June 1997, overseeing the delivery of FTS' IT solutions and contracts. Suda became FTS chief financial officer and chief information officer in January 1998, previously working as GSA director of finance. Until a search is finalized, FTS named Mike Norris as acting CFO and Mike McNeill as acting CIO.

* Paul Tuccio was recently named director of contracts at Decision Systems Technologies Inc. He will be responsible for policy and operational oversight of all federal and commercial contracts. Tuccio was most recently the director of contracts for Randstad North America.
