Delaware voters can now go online to find polling place information and a sample ballot that enables voters to contact candidates.

After entering their name at the state's polling place locator at the Department of Election's Web site, registered voters are presented with their polling location, including which entrance to use, and a link to a sample ballot.

The ballot includes the positions of candidates as well as their e-mail and Web addresses.

"The two questions voters most ask are, "Where do I vote?' and "Who are the candidates?'" said Anthony Farina, spokesman for Gov. Thomas Carper.

"It's important for people to vote for candidates that they have enough information to make an educated vote," Farina said. "And now they can do it at their own convenience."

The voting information Web site, highlighted in Carper's State of the State speech and launched Aug. 10, is the first initiative to come out of an e-government task force that was formed in March. In coming months the state will add the ability to apply for hunting and fishing licenses applications and renew driver's licenses, Farina said.
