Money enlists in company

Former Pentagon CIO Art Money is now a strategic adviser for Digital Data Development

Art Money, former Pentagon chief information officer, is now a strategic adviser for Digital Data Development, the company announced Sept. 21.

Money was the Defense Department CIO and assistant secretary of Defense for command, control, communications and intelligence in the Clinton administration. He retired from DOD in April.

"Art Money brings a wealth of experience gained from more than four decades of distinguished government and private-sector service and leadership to our team," Jeff Jonas, DDD chief executive officer, said in a written statement. "He is a true entrepreneur and has built successful technical enterprises from the ground up to become leaders in their respective fields. As a growing company, we are very excited to have his expertise and insights."

DDD is a provider of advanced collusion-detection technology, and offers a method called Non-Obvious Relationship Awareness (NORA) technology, which identifies potentially fraudulent relationships within an organization.

"I feel NORA will make a difference in helping industry and government counter 'insider threats,' " Money said. "DDD has fused technology and business processes in a way few other companies have done. I believe strongly enough in their vision that I wanted to be a part of this dynamic young company."

During his tenure at DOD, Money also served as the principal staff assistant to the secretary of Defense for information superiority. He also oversaw the department's command, control communications, computer, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance activities; space and space systems; and information technology investments, requirements, priorities, security, counter-intelligence, information management and information operations.

He also has held several high-level jobs in the private sector, including vice president and deputy general manager of TRW Inc.'s Avionics and Surveillance Group and president of ESL Inc., a TRW subsidiary.
